We recently returned from a family vacation in Cape May, NJ. We had a pleasurable time relaxing and playing with the children. Perhaps you can also imagine a few tense moments living in close quarters with children (and adults too :-)) whose nap times were abbreviated or who didn’t get enough sleep. For the most part, I enjoyed myself and expectantly the days passed by rather quickly.
Looking back on our trip, the following memories bring a smile to my face:
- Little footprints in the sand and the little feet that made them
- Being knocked over by some strong crashing waves
- Morning bike rides on the promenade down to the cove
- Morning and evening walks on the beach to view the sunrise and sunset
- Feeding the seagulls
- Remembering the boy who enjoyed himself at the beach two years ago
- Isabella swimming in the ocean
- Watching David run in and out of the ocean water
- Sighting schools of dolphins swimming a few hundred yards from us
- Eating caramel popcorn while snuggling up in bed to watch a little TV
I also took a lot of pictures on this trip (over 250!). Below are just a few sample pix:
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught. And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. (Mar 6:30-32, emphasis added)

Thank you Peter. I need the spiritual refreshing from God’s living water. I pray the same for you.
