The Golden Anniversary

02 Jun

Today is a very special day in our family.  It was 50 years ago, on June 2, 1962, that my dear parents were married!  Please join me in congratulating them on achieving this amazing milestone.

Dad and Mom – I commend you for being each other’s best friend through all these years.  I thank you for loving, guiding, accepting and forgiving me through all these years.  I could not have asked to have been placed in better care than your loving arms.  I thank God that, in His master plan, He chose you, Joellen and me to be united as a family.  Thank you for taking us to church where we learned about Jesus.  You always made family your high priority – a value that has been instilled in me through your example.  Thank you for always being available in favorable and unfavorable circumstances.

This time, allow me to tell you how proud I am of you.  I’m proud of you :-).  Congratulations!

I love you. ~Andy

P.S.:  I hope you (and Jo too) don’t mind me posting this on the Internet for all to see. 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing this. Your willingness to share your inner feelings in such an open way is inspiring.

I agree Ken…I think that men should be encouraged to share their feelings more. We lost a son and I know that my husband has not shared like I have because men just don’t open up or allow other men to open up and let others know how they are feeling. To be able to open up is very healing as well as inspiring.
