Somebody Prayed for Me

27 Mar

Today somebody prayed for me.

I was feeling terrible today.  I was physically exhausted and emotionally dry.  Through most of the morning and early afternoon, I wondered how I was going to productively make it to the end of my workday.  Around midafternoon, I gradually began to feel slightly more energetic.  I could also feel my attitude somewhat improving, although I was still quite ready for the day to be over.  On the drive home, I felt a resurgence of life throughout my body.  By the time I pulled in the garage, I felt refreshed and ready to face the challenges awaiting me at home :-).

My lovely wife asked me how the rest of my day went.  I said “OK” (which for me means really well).  I further explained that “Somebody prayed for me.  I felt better later in the day.”

Brenda smiled.  “What time did you feel better?”

“Why?” I asked.

While still smiling, she replied:  “We prayed for you when I put the littles down for nap, somewhere around 1:30.  We prayed that God would give you the strength to make it through the rest of the day.”

“I felt better somewhere between 2:00 and 3:00,” I said.  While it wasn’t immediate, their prayer was answered within a relatively short amount of time.

We both stared at each other, grinning ear to ear.

My family prayed for me today and God answered that prayer.  I am greatly blessed.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Jas 5:16)

We thank everyone who prays for us.  May the Lord bless you in your faithfulness.

Still trusting in Him,
